In Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow, players who manage to complete Kanto's Gen 1 Pokédex by catching every Pokémon are rewarded with a digital certificate by Game Freak. ![]() While not released specifically for the Pokémon franchise, Game Freak quickly used the addon to create several incredible features in Pokémon Yellow. The new hardware allowed players to connect the device to their Game Boy console using a link cable. Pokémon Red Version and Pokémon Blue Version, originally released in Japan as Pocket Monsters: Red & Green, are role-playing video games developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo for the Game Boy. It's all in all a bit of a process, considering the game is out in a few days, but the timing is such in certain areas where you may have success getting the game a few hours earlier because of Australia's time zones.Following the release of Pokémon Red and Blue, Game Freak released a third edition of the Kanto region RPGs in 1999 due to the overwhelming popularity of the Pokémon anime. You'll need to pay for the game in Australian currency as well, which you can do by way of Australian eShop credits. If you have a separate Australian account on your Switch, you may be able to access the games ahead of other countries by heading to the eShop and purchasing it there. But savvy players may be able to download the game early thanks to its release time in Australia. Unfortunately, like many publishers that offer early access when preordering a game, Nintendo isn't doing any sort of promotion like that for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
